The complete Gone Trilogy is a USA Today bestselling title.
One poor decision will haunt her forever.
Macy Mercer only wants a little independence. Eager to prove herself grown up, she goes to a dark, secluded park. She’s supposed to meet the boy of her dreams who she met online. But the cute fifteen year old was a fantasy, his pictures fake. She finds herself face to face with Chester Woodran, a man capable of murder.
Distraught over his own missing daughter, Chester insists that Macy replace his lost girl. He locks Macy up, withholds food, and roughs her up, demanding that she call him dad. Under duress from his constant threats and mind games, her hold on reality starts to slip. Clinging to her memories is the only way of holding onto her true identity, not believing that she is Chester’s daughter. Otherwise she may never see her family again.
Gone is the first novel in the Gone saga, a trilogy of psychological suspense thrillers. If you enjoy page turning suspense with constant twists and turns, then you'll love this nail-biting read by USA Today bestselling author, Stacy Claflin.
You may prefer reading the complete trilogy to have all three parts together.
(Since the trilogy is about a single kidnapping, the story isn't resolved in this part.)

I simply want every book I read, even in a series, to be a stand alone on the basic plot. Characters can develop and situations can change in future books featuring the same main characters, but no one should be forced to buy a second book to complete a basic story line. This author literally asks at the end of this book, "What will happen to Macy next? Will she manage to get away from Chester?" Tell you what, I don't care, and how old are you, anyway?. Neither the story, nor the writing were good enough to make me think that I must find out the ending by buying book 2. The characters are cliche and the plot line unoriginal. I typically stay away from books that are this short, and I wish I'd done that this time instead of being persuaded by the many 4 and 5 star reviews which absolutely baffle me. Had the author simply added another hundred pages to bring the thing to a resolution, I would have given this 3 stars - perhaps 3.5 for teenage readers for whom this might be appealing. If you want an easy to read mystery, there are plenty of better options out there. Seriously, I almost threw my ipad off the bed when I got to the end of this one because I felt cheated out of the couple of hours I spent reading it.Product details

Gone Gone Series Book 1 edition by Stacy Claflin Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
It is a great story that holds your attention. But I really have problems with a book when you have to read book two to find out what happens. Is it really possible to drag this out just to find out how this will end? I really enjoy series...but I don't like when one book is so dependent on another. I feel it is just a lousy way to make people buy another book. As much as I like the story, I doubt I will get the next one.
Wow! Gone is such a nail-biter and edge of your seat read. Claflin knows how to tempt and tease her readers with characters that have you rooting for one (Macy deciding that her parents just don't understand what being a teenage is like) while jeering at another (a cheating husband whose torn conscious begins to eat away at his sanity).
There are two groups of characters to be found in this novel. The first character type is the teenagers. Macy is a typical teenager. She goes to school, has friends, and parents who have rules. Starting off with typical teenage drama, Macy isn't happy about not being allowed to date. Normal house rules for young females. She resolves to do what she wants. Then there are her younger brother and her best friends. Of course, all of this spells T R O U B L E.
The other group consists of the adults. Chad, the cheating husband, who has a change of heart. Maybe it is just that he starts to listen to his heart. Alyssa, the mother, who just wants to rear her children and be a good wife. There are a few others that are great supporting characters, but giving too much information would spoil the story.
As this is the first novel I have ever read by Stacy Claflin, I will say I am hooked. Her characters are dynamic. The plot is nice and twisty - surprises rather than the old clichés. The tone and mood ebb and flow from tense and worrisome to hopeful and longing. The only bad thing about this book is having to wait to see what happens next. I can scarcely wait to visit Macy and her entourage again.
I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review. The review and opinions expressed are my own.
Cliffhangers are fine. Not with a story this deep. All characters were awful except the main character. This author has a mind as awful as Chester. Do not recommend unless you love sick and twisted and books that have cliffhangers that don't end well. Awful with no closure.
This book was incredible! It grips you from page one and takes you on a rollercoaster ride you won't soon forget! There were so many good twists and turns but it never felt forced or overdone. The ending was surprising and amazing and I can't say enough good things about this book! I feel like I'll give away something important in trying to say more so just know that if you get this book, it will be hard to put down!
This is one of those books that has no ending. Right when you're totally hooked, it suddenly ends with nothing resolved. This must be new authors' way of trying to sell you the second book, but it is irritating at the least and if cursing was allowed in reviews you would be reading several choice words.
DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY....YET ANOTHER AUTHOR WHO EXTORTS YOU INTO BUYING 2 MORE BOOKS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS...HOW TRULY DISGUSTING.
IF YOU DO NOT feel your book is good enough for you readers to buy another, then you are definitely in the wrong profession. YOU SHOULD HAVE CONFIDENCE WE WILL BUY ANOTHER BECAUSE WE
1-Like your writing style.
2-Love your characters.
3-You give us a story that holds our interest start to finish.
4-YOU RESPECT US ENOUGH TO END A STORY AND START A NEW ONE.
Most readers find a book then LOVE IT OR HATE IT. If we love it we will then read another by that author and then another because we are loyal and BECAUSE WHILE THERE MAY BE 1000S UPON 1000S OF AUTHORS..there are not that many really good ones that keep us coming back.
Will definitely not keep her as a preferred author. Do not like BEING FORCED to buy a book.
I got involved in this book, the story, the characters, and couldn't put it down to the very end to see how the issues were resolved. Well they weren't resolved as there was no ending. I feel scammed and cheated to read the whole book and then to find I was going to be forced to buy the next book in order to know what happens to the characters I have grown to care about. As much as I enjoyed this first book I will never read anything by this author again. I enjoy series books where I get to know the location and characters and to care about what happens to them and will gladly buy the next books in the series to see what else they get into. But, to be left hanging with no ending what so ever in the first book leaves a terrible taste and is a total turn off. So, don't read this book unless you enjoy books with absolutely no ending, and enjoy being forced to buy more books. This basically is NOT a book, it's one third of a book. Wish I had known that before I read it!
